From the recording Etherica Blue

This shares its title with a poem composed by American poet Jane Kenyon. In 2004, an elderly, well-respected married couple in my extended family had died. Since I was unable to attend the funeral in person, I suggested that it be read at the service in my absence. The somber tone of the poem, and this musical piece it was inspired by, hold a special significance – it turns out they had died by suicide. But in their case, each riddled with terminal disease, it was not so much a tragedy as it was simply bittersweet.
