Equipment used: Roland Fantom-X7 and Yamaha MX-61 Synthesizers, Arturia Keystep Pro, Behringer UM610 Keyboard Controller, Eventide Space Reverb, Roland VT-4 Voice Processor, Soundcraft EFX-12 Mixer. Native American Flute crafted by Roger Bennett Recorded direct to 2-track straight off the Soundcraft. No computers were used.

"Beyond Live" presents a live performance I gave last fall (2024) which I also recorded. I was pleasantly surprised at how well both the performance and the recording came out. I decided it was worth the effort to take it into the studio and play with it some.

So, here's what came out of it - a little better than I even expected. I don't archive many of my live shows, but this set in particular made the cut. Now you, dear listener, have an opportunity to experience and hopefully enjoy "Beyond Live" and the sonic immersion it offers.

This album is dedicated to all the Fans and "Merry Pranksters" who've supported me and my music both live-and-recorded over the years.

You're more an inspiration to me than you know.

A Special Mention from the Artist: While I love ALL my 'children', this album 'The Exquisite Now' happens to be my personal favorite of all my 'ambient' works.

Wondrous, cinematic soundworlds and tone poems, woven with inspired combinations of orchestral and acoustic instruments, electronica, and sounds from the natural world.

The tracks are presented as a series of ‘conversations’ between and among the instruments. It’s rather similar to how symphonies are put together – not featuring one instrument or one section for very long – but more about the ‘ensemble’, all together, over several movements.

Please note that in purchasing the entire album (as opposed to just a few cuts) you will hear the crossfades that occur between some of the tracks. In this way you may experience the album with an enhanced sense of continuity.

Clocking in at over 70 minutes, Light Music is comprised of nine instrumental compositions, each presenting a rich, mind-altering delicacy, where no two pieces are exactly alike but where each complements the others and supports the continuum.

In creating the soundscapes of Light Music, George Wallace uses a wide array of instruments both real and virtual, ‘Western’ and indigenous - resulting in exquisitely exotic mixtures of tonal colors and textures underscored with harmonically rich, cinematic washes of other-worldly synthesizers and ambient effects.

His soundstages often include trademark elements of melody (ranging from jazz-influenced to post-modern pop to microtonal, Asian, and Arabic modalities) and compelling rhythm, further contributing to and defining his iconoclastic approach to composing within the larger ‘Ambient/Space/Tribal/Trance’ context.

From the Primal to the Celestial: Music for Immersion and Deep Listening

The mystical music of Soul Ascending takes us to a place beyond mere emotion and on to a realm of pure being. Using a generous palette of real and virtual instruments both Western and exotic, George combines elements of melody, percussion, and soaring, complex harmony (with the presence of bells across several octaves throughout) in ever-varying proportions, designed for induction of altered states of awareness. In places it is calming - even hypnotic - without being overly repetitive; at other times we are spellbound by powerful ensembles of tribal drums and voices, simultaneously borrowing from the celestial future and the primal past.

Soul Ascending is uncompromised, adventurous music crafted for meditation, resonance, and deep listening. This is indeed wild, enriched sound, sometimes tender, always intense, of-and-for the spirit - quite literally soul music, offered as a bona-fide auditory happening, a wide-screen experience of exotic places and times well beyond this one.

Sacred Earth is a musical experience of the primordial elements – Earth, Air, Fire, and Water – comprised of lush, ethereal soundscapes, combining the sounds of electronic and acoustic instruments with backdrops of natural ambiences. From mystical, ancient sonic vistas to intense, drum-driven shamanistic chanting and on to airy, sweetly hypnotic meditations, Sacred Earth courses through four main movements, encountering many twists and turns along the way.
